A woman was outraged when she learned her husband had stolen money set aside for her son from a previous marriage, so decided to team up with her ex-husband to sue him

A woman is teaming up with her ex to sue her current husband – after he stole money that had been set aside for her late son’s medical bills.

Sharing her story anonymously, the woman said that her son had sadly passed away after a long battle with cancer, and despite the soaring medical bills she still had some money set aside that hadn’t been spent.

When her grief started to subside she checked the funds and was shocked to learn that they were gone, and when she looked closer she realised her husband had taken them – to go on a golfing holiday.

The woman had saved the money with her ex-husband, the young boy’s father, and so together they decided to sue her current partner to get the money back.

Taking to Reddit, she said: “I blew up at him and asked why he used my son’s money to go on a trip while I was grieving.

“He said he needed support too and to lift some weight off his chest after I kept pushing him aside and ignoring him, but I was and still am grieving and needed space. He wasn’t the one who lost a child.

“We had a huge argument and my ex-husband heard and was so mad. He confronted my husband calling him an unhinged opportunist and said he was going to sue him for taking the money after accessing it through me.

“I told my ex-husband to go ahead and sue and my husband was shocked that I agreed and condoned this mistreatment from my ex-husband towards him.

“He asked me to tell my ex to step down but I said no. He lashed out saying he too was and is grieving and that my ex and I are ganging up on him with complete disregard for his overwhelming grief and sorrow.

“We haven’t spoken since that argument and things keep getting worse with him texting about how I should stand with him as my husband instead of encouraging my ex to take his anger out on him like that.”

After sharing her story online, other Reddit users rushed to her defence and said her husband was out of line.

One user said: “You may soon have a second ex-husband, and it sounds like you are ok with that. Nevermind the money, he goes off on a golfing trip, to another country while you are in mourning?”

While another added: “Why are you still with your current husband? I would think using your son’s emergency fund for his own selfish golf trip is an unforgivable act.

“I just can’t fathom why anyone would think that is okay. Not only that, but he just took it, hoping to not be found out. Pretty awful.”

And a third wrote: “What your current husband did was absolutely wrong. He’s trying to turn it on you, a grieving mother. That’s horrible. Unconscionable.”
