Student Passport Program Gets Boost From EC Industry

At the July 2014 ELECTRI Council meeting, two NECA Student Chapter teams presented their proposals for the ELECTRI Student Passport Initiative Competition to bring electrical service to an underserved area.

Penn State University presented the winning proposal for a water pumping station project in Roatán, Honduras. The team received an award ($20,000 max) to execute the project.

The Purdue University proposal for a health care facility for the elderly in Managua, Nicaragua, was so compelling that several ELECTRI Council members decided to make individual contributions to support this project. Companies generously investing in the Purdue Student Passport effort include:
