ELECTRI International Extends its Condolences

ELECTRI International offers its deepest sympathy to the family of David MacKay who passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2015.

MacKay who was recognized with the ELECTRI International 2015 Wendt Award, served as Chairman of the ELECTRI International Investment Committee and as a member of the Board of Trustees, Program Review Committee, and Kitchen Cabinet Fund-raising Committee. He was also influential in the development of ELECTRI’s Student Passport Program.

In addition to his work on behalf of ELECTRI International, MacKay served as District 1 Vice President of NECA from 2008 – 2011, and served on a number of national committees and in leadership positions within NECA. He chaired the Workforce Development Committee, co-chaired the Council on Industrial Relations, served on the Management Development and Marketing Committees, and was a member of the Political Leadership Council.

MacKay entered the electrical industry in 1965 with the Edward G. Sawyer Co., working his way up from an assistant in the accounting department to President, Chief Executive Officer and Principal Owner of the company. He was very active in the Boston Chapter, NECA, serving 17 years on the Chapter's Board of Directors, as a two-term Chapter President, Chapter Governor, and on the Finance, Membership, Program, Education, and Bylaws Committees. 

MacKay was inducted into the Academy of Electrical Contracting in 2005.
