Talent Initiative
As of September 22, 2017

ELECTRI International’s Talent Initiative is a positive force in creating a talent pipeline for local electrical contractors who want to hire qualified college graduates to sustain and grow their businesses.

Electrical contractors and their industry partners want well-rounded electrical managers who are prepared to deliver electrical construction projects effectively and profitably in today’s competitive market. To help build interest in the electrical construction industry, ELECTRI International works closely with NECA Chapters and educational institutions to attract the “best and brightest” to the industry from among college Construction Management students and graduates. These young professionals will come with enhanced work-ready skills and knowledge of the electrical construction industry and be ready to make immediate contributions to their employer’s bottom line.

Through its Talent Initiative, ELECTRI International offers direct support for NECA Student Chapters to stimulate their participation in the Green Energy Challenge and to encourage teams to take on an International Service Project. The Talent Initiative relies upon the generosity and investment of contractors, industry partners and  NECA Chapters.

While ELECTRI has had great success in initiating each part of the Talent Initiative, full funding is the goal. For example, funding the International Student Passport Program would allow students to focus on designing and implementing their energy renewal or improvement plans in impoverished areas.

Talent Initiative Challenge Grant

In September 2012, ELECTRI International has received commitments of $100,000 from each, Richard W. McBride and Timothy McBride, Southern Contracting, San Diego, CA, and Walter T. Parkes and Michael Parkes, O'Connell Electric, Victor, NY, as a challenge grant for the Talent Initiative programs.

For every new or increased gift of $25,000 that ELECTRI received, each challenge released $5,000. The Challenge offered a potential grand total of $700,000 dedicated to the Talent Initiative Programs.

We Met The Challenge!

ELECTRI thanks the companies and NECA Chapters that helped us reach our $700,000 goal.
